A number of posts back I showcased the Limited EditionMarshmallow Crispy Oreo’s… but what I haven’t posted about yet are the Limited Edition Cookie Dough Oreo. I waited to open the package after the marshmallow crispy cookies were gone.
The original chocolate Oreo’s are my absolute favorite cookie. Admittedly I typically opt to skip on flavored chocolate cookie Oreo’s because I usually feel nothing can live up to the original. Although when I saw these, I was intrigued so of course I had to try them. Upon first bite, I found the cookie itself is a softer crispy cookie and they taste extremely fresh, a lot fresher tasting than the original cookie. The unique thing with these cookies is the fact the frosting is flavored and it has chocolate chip pieces/slivers in it. The pieces/slivers of chocolate provided no new texture.Would I say it tastes exactly like cookie dough? No, but it is reminiscent of it.The cream itself has a chocolaty flavor to it from the chips but it has a bit of a caramel flavor to it. If you eat the cream alone it tastes along the lines of a chocolate caramel, but when eaten with the cookie it’s reminiscent of cookie dough. But on the plus side they’re not overly sweet and certainly not as overpowering on the sugar factor when in comparison to the Marshmallow Crispy Oreo’s.
A serving is 2 cookies, which are 140 calories or 4 points plus values. 1 cookie would be 70 calories or 2 points plus values.
A couple weeks ago I popped into the grocery store simply to pick a few things up that I needed. On my way up to the cash registers I caught a glimpse of an Oreo display and did a double take. Initially I thought they were the limited edition lemon Oreo’s but upon closer inspection I realized they were the brand new Limited Edition Marshmallow Crispy Oreo’s.
I was anticipating the release of these so I made sure to bring them home with me for a little taste testing and sharing with family/friends. I’m a fan of marshmallow crispy treats and I happen to quite enjoy the golden Oreo line so I had high hopes for these. What I have to say is unique about this line is that the frosting has gritty bits of crispy bits in it.The bits certainly don’t make it as crispy/chewy as original marshmallow treats, but it certainly gives it a different texture, but it’s not overwhelmingly noticeable. Flavor wise these cookies are definitely sweet … I find one is quite enough, but if I’m really in a sweet/cookie mood two is all I need and/or can handle. They taste more vanilla than marshmallow … but nonetheless they are a nice different treat. The effect is more “profound” if you pull one side of each cookie off and push the cream sides together to make a double stuffed cookie.

A few weeks back I noticed in the Wal-Mart ad they had Limited Edition Gingerbread Oreosadvertised. Gingerbread is one of those Christmas/winter flavors for me. Gingerbread cookies and muffins have always been a favorite of mine … so that just meant I had to give these Oreos a go.
After two attempts at picking these up I finally located them and of course, purchased them. I will admit, I love the original Oreo’s but with those I find a serving size (2 cookies) is simply not enough … so I do not buy them. But for some reason with flavored Oreo’s or any Oreo outside of the original, 1 or 2 cookies is enough and I don’t go back for more. These cookies fall into that 1 or 2 cookies is enough and I’m satisfied, so that’s a win-win.
Flavor wise the cookies are absolutely delicious. I shared them with my boyfriend and my mother and both agreed they are fabulous. They’re your classic crunchy cookie, a sweet frosting, and a perfect gingerbread flavoring.I find them to be a delicious and different treat. The only downside is they are limited edition.
A serving, 2 cookies, is 150 calories or 4 points plus values.
My boyfriend and I are suckers for a lemon dessert – lemon cake, lemon tarts, lemon pie, lemon poppy seed muffins, etc. You name it, if its lemon I’m going to more than likely want to try it.That doesn’t fall short when it comes to cookies.
I spotted these Limited Edition Lemon Twist Oreo’s and put the pack in my cart. I tried to decide if we needed to bring them home or not and that lemon dessert weakness in me won over. We had them as a late night snack and I have to say these are fabulous little cookies! They have the vanilla cookie outside with a bold but sweet lemon cream center. The lemon is sweet, not tart. The aroma when opening the pack is undoubtedly sweet lemon. In my opinion, they are a perfect little gem and a nice twist on a classic Oreo.
A serving size is 2 cookies, 150 calories, which calculate out to 4 points plus values. They’re worth it if you enjoy cookies and have the will power to only have a serving size.
